In Year 10, all students take part in a day’s work experience in their chosen career path. This is a valuable opportunity for students to learn more about their chosen career through a talk delivered by an employer, the opportunity for Q&A and by participating in a range of practical activities which have been created by a professional who works in industry. It is our aim for all students to have a worthwhile experience which will help them with their future career decisions.
For example, we have had a Palaeontologist from Alabama talk to two students, explaining what she does in her role, answering their questions and then setting them a project to complete and present back to her three hours later.
Other examples of employers which our students have worked with include:
The NHS, The Army, Blackpool FC Community Trust, Sealife Centre Blackpool, PHH Solicitors, Blackpool & The Fylde College, Kids Planet Poulton Nursery and Piper’s Restaurant to name a few.
