Race for Life
Baines Girls entered Race for Life for the first time in 2005 and we have entered a team every year since then. Over 1,500 females associated with the school have taken part and in doing so raised a substantial sum of money for the charity. In 2012 Blackpool’s Race for Life was launched by Kim Rossall aged 20, a former pupil of ours. Sadly, Kim lost her battle with cancer a year later just after her 21st birthday and we remember her especially through our Race for Life participation.
In 2017, the year the school celebrated its tercentenary, Team Baines Girls was made up of females past and present of the school who together celebrated and remembered the lives of members of our school’s family and friends who are and have been affected by cancer. As a school we are extremely proud of the support that our girls give to the event and the monies raised to support the work of Cancer Research.
