Congratulations to our Baines Students for the clean sweep at this year’s Ogden Awards Ceremony! We are very proud of all our competitors and winners of the prestigious Ogden Awards.
Our winner of the Key Stage 4 Physicist of the Year at Baines School—sponsored by Lancaster University:
Ashleigh is an excellent physicist. Her problem-solving skills are highly developed as is her analytical ability, allowing her to obtain understanding on the complex areas of the syllabus. has a very bright future ahead in this area if she chooses to specialise in it.
Our winner of the Key Stage 4 Chemist of the Year at Baines School—sponsored by Future U:
Jerry is an exceptional chemist. only does he understand the major concepts quickly, he also applies his newly discovered knowledge to novel situations with ease and it is a challenge to find a problem that he cannot solve. piece of work is thorough and accurate and when mistakes are made, Jerry usually spots them himself and corrects them making notes to ensure that he does not repeat them. is an incredibly modest student, generous with his time in the support of struggling classmates and at his best when working in a small team on the most difficult of calculations. very deserving winner!
Our winner of the Key Stage 3 Physicist of the Year at Baines School—sponsored by the Ogden trust:
Erin is an excellent physicist who shows an excellent combination of logic, reasoning and knowledge to enable her to approach difficult and abstract concepts in a manner which enables her to develop her own understanding. This approach and attention to detail will mean there are no limits to what she will be able to achieve in Physics if she sets her mind to it. She has also demonstrated her ability and understanding working with peers to help develop their understanding in a naturally calm and positive attitude.
Congratulations also to our competition winners. These students took time to enter the various competitions that have been held by the Ogden Trust throughout the year. Some students entered these competitions during Lockdown through our Online Stem Club. We are very proud that through the most difficult times these students achieved something creative and won over all of the other students from all the schools across the Fylde Coast. Well done!
