Final examinations
Ultimately, all pupils are assessed during and at the end of Year 11.
Performance coursework is internally marked and then externally moderated. Performance deadlines will be set in Y11. Following these, students will receive written feedback so as to assess strengths and areas for development.
Composition coursework is internally marked and then externally moderated. Composition interim deadlines will be set throughout KS4. Students will receive both verbal and written feedback so as to assess strengths and areas for development.
Your son/daughter will sit a 1hr 45min exam at the end of Y11. As we study the 8 set works set by Edexcel, end of unit tests and mock examinations will provide teachers with sufficient information and data so as to assess progress, identify strengths and more importantly, identify gaps in knowledge/understanding that we can then use to inform our planning so as to support students.
