Celebration of the Life of the Sixth Form
Unfortunately, the time has come for us to say goodbye to our beloved Sixth Form. We have been so lucky over the years to see so many of our students arrive in Year 7 and grow to become young men and women heading off to future success at the end of year 13.
To celebrate the life of the Sixth Form we will be hosting a special ‘Final Celebration’ on Friday 21st June 2019 at 7pm. The evening will be based in the common room and past students and staff will have the opportunity to catch up with old friends and reminisce about their times at Baines Sixth form, sharing stories of trips to Iceland, Nepal and locating teachers in fancy dress around Bowness. There will be hot food provided and a bar for guests to purchase a glass of wine or two to toast their memories.
During the evening we will also be unveiling a mural that our current Year 13 students have created with Lancashire artist Chas Jacobs. All of the students have played a role in the creation and we have also welcomed past students and staff. Pictured is Mrs Chapman ensuring that she has added her touch to the painting.
Zara Smith said “It provided a good break from studying and I found it relaxing. It will be nice to know there is a reminder of me at the school in years to come” and Charlie Farrer said “It has been very relaxing and therapeutic with all the stress of the looming exams”. If anyone is interested in attending the event on Friday 21st June 2019 tickets can be purchased from the front office for £8 (includes hot food and dessert).
