3)     The Cyber society

  • Qui sont les cybernautes?
  • Comment la technolofie facilite la vie quotidienne
  • Quels danger la «Cyber-société» pose-t-elle?

Term 2

Work – continuation of study of chosen French film for writing paper

Continuation – Theme – Social Issues and Trends – current issues

Sub topics:

1) Demonstrations, strikes – who holds the power? (manifestations, grèves – à qui le pouvoir ? )

  • Le pouvoir des syndicats
  • Manifestations et grèves – sont-elles efficaces ?
  • Attitudes différentes envers ces tensions politiques

2) Politics and immigration

Revision of theme 1 – review with exam style questions, grammar work and vocabulary.

Individual Research Project:

Students will be expected to have completed the research and be drawing their findings into a 1 minute presentation with a further knowledge of the topic to allow for an additional 8 minute conversation.

Term 3
Theme – Social Issues and Trends – current issues

Sub topics:

1) Life for the marginalised (Quelle vie pour les marginalisés?)

  • Qui sont les marginalisés?
  • Quelle aide pour les marginalisés?
  • Quelles attitudes envers les marginalisés?

2) Crime & punishment

  • How criminals are treated
  • Quelles attitudes envers la criminalité?

Individual Research Project:

Students must identify a subject or a key question which is of interest to them and which relates to a country or countries where French is spoken.  This is for the speaking assessment.

Theme – Political and Artistic Culture (Artistic Culture in the French speaking world)
